The Architects of the Reset
Nullvoid was not an ordinary terrorist group. It was a global network of technological anarchists convinced that modern society had to be destroyed to save humanity from itself. Their plan was simple but devastating: a worldwide "hard reset," erasing financial structures, governments, and communications. Divided into continental cells, Eurovoid (Europe), Usavoid (North America) and Asiavoid (Asia), they decided the old continent would be the first domino to fall.
Day Zero
At 03:00 AM CET, the Eurovoid cell executed "Operation Silence." Multiple Electromagnetic Pulse detonations in the stratosphere fried the European electrical grid. Simultaneously, the nullvoid-21 computer virus corrupted backup servers, data banks, and communication systems. In minutes, 740 million people were left isolated, in the dark, and without government. Europe became a cage.
The Fracture
With communications down and no way to coordinate, NATO collapsed in weeks. Member states blamed each other for the EMP attacks and the computer virus. Old grudges resurfaced, borders were sealed, and diplomatic channels went silent. Then came the incident at the Polish-German frontier, a confrontation between two allied patrols that left dozens dead. It was the spark. Within days, former allies began bombing each other. The United States and China intervened to protect their respective partners, turning Europe into a battlefield of superpowers. The continent that had once feared terrorists now tore itself apart.
The Accident: Project Beza
Nullvoid's plan was purely technological, but nobody counted on what lay hidden beneath Central Europe. In a clandestine government bunker sat Project Beza, an experimental Russian biological weapon seized years earlier. During the cross-border bombings, a stray strike hit the facility and cracked the containment vaults. The Beza virus doesn't kill the body immediately. It kills the soul. Extreme fevers followed by selective neuronal necrosis that eradicates the capacity to feel empathy, fear, or love, transforming the infected into functional psychopaths or violent, erratic beasts. By the time anyone understood what had been released, it was already too late.
The Great Exodus and the Global Fall
Panic over the Beza virus and the chaos of the war triggered the largest exodus in history. Millions of Europeans fled toward the borders, but the outside world, terrified of infection, closed its doors with blood and fire. Refugees were treated as plague carriers. The geopolitical chaos and military concentration on the borders were the perfect distraction. Between 2018 and 2019, the Usavoid and Asiavoid cells replicated the EMP attacks in America and Asia. The Beza strain, already present in global refugee camps, did the rest. The entire world fell.
Europe: Ground Zero
Europe is now the most hostile territory on the planet. Decimated by the first wave of infections, the exodus, and civil wars over resources, it is a vast cemetery of ghost cities.
